Government diverts Guruvayur Treasury Revenue; The Battle of the Hindu Seva Kendram sees victory!

The Hon’ble High Court has directed that the Temple Revenue must not be diverted to the Government in a case filed by the Hindu Seva Kendram in connection with the transfer of funds from the Guruvayur Temple Treasury to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. The ruling is a major setback to the government’s ploy to take over the temple treasury under the current situation of a significant drop in temple revenue. Mr. Prasanna Kumar, an activist of Hindu Seva Kendram, approached the High Court through Adv. Krishnaraj and Adv. Pratheesh Vishwanath.

The court ruling comes as a boost to the Hindu Seva Kendram ‘s ongoing battles against encroachment and misuse of Temple property and it’s assets. Earlier, the Hindu Seva Kendra have retaliated court orders against the lease of temple land for cultivation as well as the conversion of temple ponds for fish farming.
Further Hindu Seva Kendram had filed a complaint in the court against the sale of Temple assets by Paramekavu Devaswom.

All these days Devaswom Board was dancing to the tunes of State Governments to attrite the Resources of Hindu Temples. It is really disappointing that no one from our Hindu Community ever raised a little finger against making our Temples a milking cow for the Governments. Now time has changed, Temple Resources belongs to the deva and no one will be allowed to exploit it.

Thiruvambadi Devaswom Case; Implead Central Govt as Party

Hindu Seva Kendram impleaded the Union Government as a party in a case filed in the High Court in connection with the sale of temple property to pay off Rs 80 crore debt of the Thiruvambadi Devaswom. The central government was added in the said case in a reasonable belief that the state government system, which was taking an anti-Hindu stand, would do no good to the Hindu community. Advocate Krishnaraj has filed the case in the High Court on behalf of Hindu Seva Kendram. Devaswom Board, Thiruvambadi Devaswom, South Indian Bank and the District Judge are among the other parties in the said case.

Hindu Seva Kendram filed a complaint in the Honorable High Court of Kerala, challenging the Devaswom Board’s sale of deity’s properties to settle a debt of Rs 80 crore. Thiruvambadi Devaswom has invited tenders for the sale of deity’s properties. Devaswom Board is in debt of around Rs 80 crore due to corruption and mismanagement. The tender to pay off the debt of Rs 80 crore is in the midst of controversy over the disbursement of Rs 3 crore from a private lease for Devaswom property, deposit of Rs 70 lakh in a personal account related to Sandeepani School and misappropriation of 42 sovereigns related to deity’s ornaments.

Devaswom has the power only to manage the deity’s properties. It is a serious violation of law and corruption by the management to sell the deity’s property. In view of this, the petition filed prayed the court to take over the administration of the temple from the Thiruvambadi Devaswom and to stop the tender process. The petition also demanded that the debt incurred by Devaswom be recovered from the property of the corrupt rulers.

“Temple ponds are not for fish farming”, comments HC; Devaswom Board lost face again

Honorable High Court commented on fish farming in temple ponds. The Honorable High Court mentioned that temple ponds are not places for fish farming, when the complaint filed by the Hindu Seva Kendram was taken up today. Honorable High Court itself came to the scene with criticism against the Devaswom Board. The High Court has sought clarification from all the Devaswom Boards in Kerala on this matter. The case is set to return to court on May 13.

Temple Advisory Committees starts cultivation without any special orders from the Devaswom Boards and the Boards leave it unseen, this is Fish Farming mode of operandi. The court took up the case this morning and clarified its strong stand on the issue. Hindu Seva Kendram has intervened against attempts to turn temple ponds into fish markets.

Hindu Seva Kendram filed a petition in the High Court following the intrusion of the government’s fish farming program into temple ponds under various Devaswom Boards in Kerala. The temple ponds are closely associated with the temple rituals, the recent move to commercialize these ponds have a mysterious purpose. Such activities are initiated by advisory committees favorable to the present government. As part of this, initial steps have been taken for fish farming in temple ponds including Kottarakkara and Koodalmanikyam. The intervention of Hindu Seva Kendram came as the Devaswom Board remained silent on the matter.

The move by the comrades to tarnish the sanctity of the temple ponds and turn them into public pools will be resisted in all means.
